Modi govt. that came into being on 26th. May. 2016, with massive public support, is already working in full swing. Bringing together a comparatively smaller council of ministers, the basic tenet of the govt. formed by Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi, has been Minimum Government, Maximum Governance.
Coming on the heels of the enactment of the new govt., myriad promises were made that the work would be done fast and efficiently, sans all ado that governments are generally held guilty of. The public was assured that the govt. procedures would be expedited and that there would be concrete action and results, not just lip service.
Although, Modi and his govt., by the opponents, have been criticised, lampooned and attempts have been made to break their spirit. Modi cadre, nonetheless, has been at its job of delivering well on its commitments and promises wholeheartedly.

- India emerges as the Highest Grosser of FDI in 2015:
Following the so-called frequent foreign trips of Prime Minister Modi that have been satirised by many in the political circuit, what has transpired is a phenomenal boost in the Foreign Direct Investment in the nation. The way our PM has gone about approaching and building a rapport with certain foreign nations such as the U.S.A, China etc., has made it all happen. Additionally, his commendable campaigns like Make in India are to be credited for the success as well.
- Flourishing of the Telecom Sector:
The govt. in this sector too, has done immense work. It has obtained an FDI of 27000 Crore in Telecom between April 14 to February 16. Sharing and Trading, Defence Band Identification, Liberalisation of Airwaves, Full Mobile Number Portability and more count among the measures taken by the govt. in the sector. Also, the almost-drowning BSNL has been revived, Electronics Manufacture has been spiked, The Indian BPO has been introduced in rural areas for better communication.
- Infrastructure Uplift:
Modi and his govt. understand the enormous significance that a robust infrastructure has in the development of a nation. The Setu Bharatam Program for building 208 Rail overbridges and Rail under-bridges and the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojna for better connecting roads in villages are being worked upon.
- One Rank One Pension Plan:
Brining the much-awaited respite to the pensioners of the Armed Forces, the Modi Govt. delivered on their promise of acting proactively on OROP. The govt. handed the revised pension to the pensioners which was long overdue to them. Over 1465 Crores were paid off in March 16.
- Extending Electricity to the Rural Areas:
The Govt. aims at providing electricity to 18,452 villages of India by May. 2018. The Ujwal DISCOM Assurance Yojna has been laid out to work towards the aim in collaboration with the power distribution companies operating in the nation. Swift action is already in the pipeline towards the goals of efficiency in distributing electricity far and wide, reduction in the electricity costs, bringing discipline in the functioning of power distributing companies etc.
- Various Schemes for an Integrated Development:
The Modi govt. intends to bring an all-encompassing development in the entire nation, bringing prosperity to the rural as well the urban sectors. To this end, it has launched a host of result-oriented schemes that come with an assurance of tangible benefits for all. Digital India, Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan, Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojna, Awas Yojna, Sukanya Samriddhi Yojna, MUDRA Bank Yojna, Suraksha Bima Yojna, Smart City Yojna, Krishi Sinchai Yojna, Gold Monetisation Scheme, among numerous others, are all concrete plans focussed on developing all parts and sectors of India together. Not only have these well-thought out policies been introduced but also actual implementation of them is being done effectively and efficiently.
