Digital India – Benefits of Digitization


Instituted and inaugurated by the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi, Digital India is a novel and momentous project, with an aim to strengthen and widen the reach of internet, digitisation and its benefits across the nation. The project was kick-started on 2nd. July. 2015 by the PM with a vision and commitment to induct the far-off, rural dwellers into the electronic and digital world and help them enjoy all of its rewards. The campaign includes efforts to be made in the direction of building a solid, digital infrastructure for people throughout the country, doling out digital services as well as digital literacy and creating newer job opportunities. Broadband highways, universal access to mobile connectivity, public internet access programme, E-governance, E-Kranti, information for all, electronics manufacturing, IT for jobs and early harvest programme; all figure among the ‘Nine Pillars of Digital India’. The project promises provision of advanced, digital services such as, DigiLocker, Swachh Bharat Mission Mobile App, Online Registration System and more to every citizen of India. The idea is to bring together and connect the whole nation through digitization and the myriad advantages it’s replete with. With the aid of this forward-looking campaign, people can enjoy facilities like, accessing govt. documents on Cloud, ease of financial transactions via internet, better business prospects for manufacturers, bigger and better employment opportunities for jobseekers and integrated growth of all sectors such as: education, manufacturing, electronics, banking, telecom etc. All these, and many more ultra-modern services and benefits can be availed by the people of India. And this is just the beginning of a new, transformed India.
